The purpose and blessings of family names by Carson Abraham

Hello everyone, I hope you have a wonderful weekend and had time to rest and had many fun activities with your friends, families, and loved ones. Today I want to share with you what was on my mind ever since I started to create this blog about the importance of family relations and the topic, I want to share with you today is the importance of family names. Names a word or a title that is given to a child on the day of their birth they have different meanings and different cultural origins but the most important thing to know is that names give each of us meaning of who we are and who we are bound to become in the future and as we grow to become parents to bear children of our own that we have a sacred duty on the earth and that duty is having the chance to give our children a powerful and meaningful name.

As you know one of my favorite things to do in my free time is learn new things such as history and new math tactics that I never heard before one of the things I and my family did was Google what each of our names means some of you might know those of you who don’t let me explain. Name googling is where we take each of our first, middle, and last names and we find out what they mean in origins and definitions I believe my name has both a great and funny meaning let me show you. So, my first name is Carson which is a Scottish origin name that means, “Son of a marsh dweller” and marsh dwellers are mythical swamp creatures. And my last name is Abraham which is a biblical name from the bible that means, “Father of all nations” So if you take all my names and add them together my name is basically Shrek which is funny and also great because one of my favorite childhood movies of all time. But that’s not the only thing that I want to share with you today my blog viewers I want to share a quote by Confucius who shared, “The beginning of Wisdom is to call things by their proper name.” Like I said before names are more than just words and titles names make us who we are and they show us our potential and our greatest destinies our last names tell us about our relations and our deepest connections to our families and to the people whom we love and look forward to in guidance and advice that will help us in our times of struggles and as we grow to become parents we shall do the same to our children and show them and guide them to their pure potential and show them who they are by calling out to them and say you have been given a great name because that is who you are. And I pray and promise to each and every one of you who reads this that we all have strong names because that’s who we are and that is what we shall be in this life and in the next.

And I would like to end today’s blog with this scripture and this particular one is also why it’s very important when I become a future parent to give my future kids their names this scripture is Genesis 12:2 and it reads, “And I will make of thee a great nation, and I will bless thee, and make thy name great; and thou shalt be a blessing…”
